Practice management for new and solo practitioners

Less admin. More clinic. When you are the clinician, the receptionist and the owner, every hour of admin is an hour not spent with patients. This page is for practitioners starting out or working alone.

What a solo practitioner needs

A clear diary, notes you can finish between patients, a way to notice who has stopped coming, and a view of how the practice is going. Praxia is built to cover those, and it is honest about what is still being built.

Praxia was built with a working clinic, starting with its own pilot practice, so it is shaped by real clinic days.

The diary

Your day and week are laid out as a schedule grid, with appointment statuses in words as well as colour.

Appointments booked on your clinic’s calendars flow into Praxia as visit records, and cancellations and reschedules sync.

When you cancel or a patient does, Praxia can offer the freed-up slot to patients on a waitlist. This is part of the pilot product, and offers run when a cancellation opens a slot.

Notes and intake

Visit notes are written in SOAP sections that autosave, warn on edit conflicts, keep an edit history, and cannot be signed off until your clinic’s rules are met.

Patients can complete intake forms online before they arrive, and the answers land in their record.

Praxia can draft a first-pass GP referral or discharge letter, and you review and approve every draft before anything is sent.

Follow-up and a view of the practice

Patients whose visits stop are grouped into recall cohorts by time since they last attended, using rules you set. This is part of the pilot product.

An attrition log shows which lapsed patients need a personal call, with the reason recorded.

The reports page covers bookings per day, no-show rate, revenue per visit, new patients, visit types, lapsed patients, visits per patient, retention and recall reactivation. It is limited to management roles, which for a solo practitioner means you.

What a solo practitioner should know

A plain account, so you can judge fit without a sales call.

Built (see the product status page for what is being onboarded).

  • Diary, SOAP notes, intake forms, GP letters and reports.
  • Recording cash, bank transfer and external EFTPOS payments against an invoice.

Part of the pilot product, and being built.

  • Recall and reactivation are part of the pilot product. Waitlist offers are part of the pilot product and run when a cancellation opens a slot.
  • Private health fund rebate claiming through Tyro Health is part of the pilot product. Card payments at the front desk through Tyro Health are part of the pilot product too.

Not built.

  • Medicare, DVA and NDIS claiming and invoicing: in scope for the platform but not part of the early pilot release, and may arrive during the pilot or, more likely, before commercial release; tell us if they matter to your clinic.
  • Features designed specifically for mental health practice.
  • Discipline-specific note templates.
  • Running several sites in one account.

Starting a practice, or moving one

If you are setting up a new practice, onboarding is operator-led: a person from Praxia runs the set-up with you rather than leaving you with a manual. We aim for a guided session that takes as little of your time as we can.

If you are moving from another system, the switch is planned with you, checked before anything changes over. Read the switching page for what moves and what does not. Do not assume your old notes or invoice history come across.

The solo price

A solo practitioner pays A$199 per practitioner per month, in Australian dollars, excluding GST. If you later add practitioners, the per practitioner price steps down: A$159 for 2 to 4, A$119 for 5 to 10, and A$89 for 11 to 20. GST is added to your invoice and shown as a separate line.

The pricing page has the full table.

Praxia is being piloted with Evolution Medical Care, a clinic run by Praxia’s founders, and is being onboarded to it now. Praxia Clinical Solutions is an Australian company, currently in incorporation. We have no customer numbers, testimonials or results to show you, and we will not invent any. More about the team is on the about page.

Solo practitioner questions

Is Praxia too much for one person?

No. Pricing starts at one practitioner, and a walkthrough shows you how Praxia would work for a clinic your size. If it does more than you need, we will say so.

Can I claim health fund rebates, Medicare, DVA or NDIS?

Private health fund claiming through Tyro Health is part of the pilot product. It has been built and run end to end on Tyro’s staging environment. Card payments at the front desk through Tyro Health are part of the pilot product too. See where payments and claiming stand. Medicare, DVA and NDIS are in scope for the platform but not part of the early pilot release, and may arrive during the pilot or, more likely, before commercial release; tell us if they matter to your clinic.

Can I use Praxia from home or between sites?

Praxia does not run several sites in one account yet. Ask us about your arrangement and we will be direct about it.

Who sees my patients’ data?

Access is role based, and each clinic’s data is separated from every other clinic’s at the database level.

Request a walkthrough

Tell us how you work, and we will show you the diary, notes and reports on a walkthrough. Praxia is working with a pilot clinic, so we will tell you honestly whether it fits yet. We will reply to arrange a time.

Please leave out any patient information. How we handle your details is set out in our privacy policy.
